England manager Gareth Southgate has broken silence on reports claiming he will replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United next season.

Reports in England suggested that new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has looked at Southgate as a potential repalcement for Ten Hag, who has been underfire.

Southgate has had a somewhat successful tenure with England, having reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and the final of the 2021 European Championship.

However, the Three Lions was not happy with the links and labelled them disrepectful.

"There are two things. I’m the England manager, I have got one job basically. To try and deliver a European Championship," Southgate told reporters, as per Goal.

"Clearly, before that, we have two important games this week."

"Secondly, Manchester United have a manager, and I think it is completely disrespectful that there is any speculation over a manager’s place.

"I am president of the League Managers’ Association. I don’t have any time for that sort of thing."

Southgate's charges will be in action on Saturday evening when they host Brazil at Wembley Stadium in an international friendly.
