Real Madrid moved seven point clear at the top of LaLiga with a 4-0 thrashing of Celta Vigo on Sunday evening.

Jude Bellingham didn’t feature for Madrid following his late red card against Valencia, with Brahim Diaz brought in alongside recalls Nacho Fernandez, Lucas Vazquez and Luka Modric.

Rodrygo Goes showed a burst of speed to skip in the box and looked to find the target from a clever position in the offensive third, but he was kept in check pretty well.

Los Blancos broke the resistance from the visiting team just after the 20th minute spell when Vinicius Junior pounced on a loose ball in the area and scrambled over the line.

Celta goalkeeper Vicente Guaita stood between Real getting a second goal before halftime as he produced a string of saves to keep out of Rodrygo and Eduardo Camavinga.

The travelling brigade did fancy a route back on the cusp of the break when a floated delivery by Iago Aspas following a free-kick had Luca De La Torre nod over target.

Celta were inches close to a response past halftime from a smart move between Oscar Mingueza and Aspas, but the opposite number Andriy Lunin rushed out and gathered.

The table-toppers continued to dominate and increased their tally when Guaita helped a point-blank header from Antonio Rudiger in off the crossbar and into his own net.

At the same time, the home team presented a substitution in the final minutes as Aurelien Tchouameni came on in the place of Diaz.

Madrid remained in control nonetheless and duly bagged at third goal when another spot of bother by the host left Carlos Dominguez to find his own net two minutes from time.

There was more in store as substitute Arda Guler went in behind and rounded Guaita for the easiest of finishes and at the same time concluded matters.
