Real Madrid climbed to the top of the LaLiga standings after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Cadiz on Sunday evening.

There was a late change for Real after stomach problems forced Brahim Diaz to sit out as Rodrygo Goes was given the call to start, with top scorer Jude Bellingham back in the picture.

Rodrygo put the visitors ahead when he dropped a shoulder to cut into the six-yard area from a tight angle inside the 14th minute and powered into the top corner.

The Brazilian ace was in again from the very same angle in the hope of latching in a similar strike to his first, but unfortunately were kept at bay this time around.

Los Blancos enjoyed all the momentum at this point and came close when Bellingham’s looping header at the far post hit the top of the net.

Cadiz came to life following a quiet spell for the better of the first half and put goalkeeper Andriy Lunin at full stretch to guide a powerful effort from Roger Marti behind for a corner-kick.

The dominant period continued from the visiting side in the second half where a loose ball at the far side had Rodrygo in on for a brace with the goal in plain sight, but he couldn’t capitalise.

Rodrygo continued to be a nuisance and extend their lead when he cut in wide to escape a couple of challenge and applied an identical finish to his first midway following the second period.

Los Blancos remained in perfect control of proceedings and bagged a third goal when Bellingham ran in space wide of the area to fire in from a tight angle.

With the lead comfortable, Madrid added two changes in Lucas Vazquez and young debutant called-up from the development side Gonzalo Garcia.

There were no further goals that showed from particular the Spanish giants, who marched to a comfortable win.
