The reigning champions France have officially announced their final squad for 2022 FIFA World Cup and there are some notable absentees.

Les Bleus have been dealt a number of injury blows with N'Golo Kante and Paul Pogba being ruled out of the competition. The pair were integral to the nation's success in the 2018 tournament and 2021 UEFA Nations League.

While this left Didier Deschamps in a difficult situation, he has called up suitable replacements in Adrien Rabiot, Aurelien Tchouameni and Youssouf Fofana.

In the defence, Barcelona's Jules Kounde and Arsenal star William Saliba earned call ups to the national team while Hugo Lloris and Mike Maignan are likely to battle for the goalkeeping spot.
