England have made a huge Raheem Sterling decision following his departure from the side's 2022 FIFA World Cup camp.

Earlier this week, the Chelsea star returned to the UK from Qatar after armed intruders broke into his home.

The Blues attacker was said to be shaken by the incident and wanted to be back in England to be with his family, who were in the house when the burglary took place.

Reports later suggested that Sterling had decided to not return to the tournament in the Middle East.

However, the English FA has now announced that Sterling will rejoin the national team in Qatar ahead of their crucial quarter-final against France on Saturday.

“Raheem Sterling will return to England’s World Cup base in Qatar," the statement read, per the Guardian.

"The Chelsea forward temporarily left to attend to a family matter but is now expected to rejoin the squad in Al Wakrah on Friday ahead of the quarter-final with France.”

The forward will be back in time for the match, but it remains unclear whether he will be available for selection.
