World football governing body FIFA have announced the Best FIFA Men's Player for 2023 in London on Monday night.
Argentina star Lionel Messi has been named The Best FIFA Men's Player for 2023 after his impressive year for club and country.
Messi, who won Ballon d'Or last year, beat out competition from Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe in the final voting.
Surprisingly, Messi and Haaland both secured 48 points in the voting, but the Argentine won the award after securing more 'five point' scores from international captains.
The 36-year-old star has also become the first player to win the award three times
Manchester City did away with a couple more awards on the night as Pep Guardiola was named Best Men's Coach Of the Year while Ederson collected the The Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper.
