In shocking scenes on Thursday night, a fan was seen attacking a player with his belt after a cup final.
Saudi Arabian football has drawn several headlines in recent weeks, with many eyes still on South African tactician Pitso Mosimane's battle to keep Abha Club out of the relegation zone.

While Abha's recent 8-0 defeat at the hands of Al Nassr has been one noteworthy moment, another was when Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off during a Saudi Super Cup game against Al Hilal after elbowing one of his opponents in the chest.
The 38-year-old superstar now faces a potential two-game suspension as well as a fine of 20 000 riyals (about R100 000), according to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah.
More dramatic events took place this week, though, when a supporter who was in the stands at the Saudi Super Cup final bizarrely took out his belt and started whipping an Al Ittihad star.

The strange incident took place on Thursday after the final whistle had blown on the competition decider between Al Ittihad and Al Hilal.
It is believed the fan in question was incensed by the fact that Al Ittihad had lost the match in emphatic fashion, with the side having been beaten 4-1.

Striker Abderrazak Hamdallah was walking close to the stands when the supporter in question seemingly started berating him.
The forward responded by squirting some water at the spectator, who was then seen using his belt to try to whip the player.
