Spain 6-0 Cyprus

Spain’s ruthless display in front of goal continued after crushing an out-of-sorts Cyprus 6-0 to hold a firm grip on second spot in Group A.

FC Barcelona star midfielder Gavi broke the deadlock inside the opening 20 minutes after he managed to get on the end of an assist provided by Nico Williams.

Williams’ involvement didn’t end there as he delivered yet another supply this time for Mikel Merino to bag the net and make it 2-0.

La Roja were in mean mood following the break and nabbed a third through Joselu before a double from Ferran Torres followed suit.

The miserable evening for the visitors weren’t over as Villarreal CF winger Alejandro Alex Baena arrowed in the sixth and saw the two-time European champions to a remarkable victory.

Italy 2-1 Ukraine

Italy revived their hopes to qualify for the UEFA Euro 2024 with an entertaining 2-1 victory over Ukraine at the San Siro Stadium in Group C on Tuesday.

After a disappointing draw against North Macedonia on Saturday, the Italians were quick out of the starting blocks and took the lead through Davide Frattesi.

The Inter Milan helped himself to a double around the half-hour mark with a snappy finish which was given after going on a pitch-side review.

Ukraine, who’d just earned a creditable draw against England, pulled one back just before halftime after Andriy Yarmolenko finished from the tightest of angles.

However, the Azzurri’s lead wasn’t under threat and managed to pick up their first win under new man.

Belgium 5-0 Estonia

Belgium continued their march towards the finals through a dominant 5-0 victory against a hapless Estonia, with a brace from Romelu Lukaku.

Veteran defender Jan Vertonghen granted the Red Devils a dream opening four minutes in when he angled in Yannick Carrasco’s supply.

The Red Devils were two up within the midway spell of the half when Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard combined with a delivery from Romelu Lukaku before finding the net.

Belgium upped the ante ten minutes after the break as Lukaku got in on the act and registered a brace within minutes through another clever effort.

There were time for more in the final minutes after Charles De Ketelaere, whose on the books of Atalanta these days added to the visitors woes.

Sweden 1-3 Austria

Sweden’s EURO 2024 hopes suffered a blow following a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Austria in a Group F encounter.

The visitors were in front a little after halftime through a well-taken finish from Michael Gregoritsch after the Swedes failed to clear their lines.

It was two for the Austrians minutes apart when Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic finished off a delivery by Marcel Sabitzer.

Arnautovic inflicted further damage on the host moments apart after he fired in the third from the spot and claimed a brace in the process.

Sweden did got one back in the final seconds when Emil Holm narrowed in a smart assist from Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski, as the clash concluded.

Norway 2-1 Georgia

Norway’s ambitions to qualify for the finals next June remain on track after registering a 2-1 victory over Georgia in a Group A encounter.

Red-hot striker Erling Haaland had the Lions off to a dream start earlier on with a smartly taken finish before Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard made it two before the break.

Norway did come under fire though right at the death when the visitors got a lifeline courtesy of Budu Zivzivadze, but in the end it proved to be just a consolation
