Manchester City star Phil Foden has now reportedly been linked with a shock exit from the Etihad.
Real Madrid scout Juni Calafat is leading the club's charge to broker a deal for the 23-year-old, according to Defensa Central.
The attacker stole the show with two goals in the Citizens' 3-1 derby victory over rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
It is said that Los Blancos chiefs were following the match closely because of Calafat's interest in the England international, which is believed to have intensified the club's desire to snap up the player.
The LALIGA giants reportedly consider Foden to be a great reinforcement their front line, and while Real are said to also be interested in signing Erling Haaland, a potential swoop for his teammate is believed to be a less complicated matter.
It is understood Los Blancos will continue to keep tabs on the Englishman as the season progresses, ahead of a potential move for this signature.
City, meanwhile, have a chance at a threepeat. In the Premier League title race, they are currently just one point behind leaders Liverpool, with the two sides set to go head to head on Sunday.
Before that, however, Pep Guardiola and his men will face FC Copenhagen in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday night. The Citizens will go into that match with a 3-1 aggregate advantage.
The Manchester club will then take on Newcastle United in another quarter-final, this time in the FA Cup, on Saturday 16 March.
Foden will be hoping he can maintain his current form as his team enters a crucial point in the season, and will certainly be looking to add to the 18 goals and 10 assists he has accumulated so far in this campaign.
