Liverpool bounced back in the Premier League title race after a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday evening.

The Reds manager Jurgen Klopp reserved Mohamed Salah following their UEFA Europa League outing against Atalanta, as Diogo Jota started instead to spearhead the attack alongside Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

Klopp's charges were quick off the blocks in the early exchanges, with Diaz guilty of missing good chances.

As Liverpool kept on coming, Jota had a good chance midway into the first stanza after receiving a cut-back from Trent Alexander-Arnold but he fired his shot just wide.

However, Alexander-Arnold eventually broke the deadlock for the visitors shortly after the half-hour mark with an exquisite free-kick that looped over the wall and found the top corner.

Fulham were fired up and on the stroke of half-time, Timothy Castagne levelled matters with a strike from a rebound in the box.

Liverpool did not waste time to restore their lead, as eight minutes from the interval, Ryan Gravenberch fired home an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box after he was teed up by Harvey Elliott.

The Reds increased their intensity and came close to getting a two-goal lead twice both through Jota, who was denied by goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

However, Jota eventually made it 3-1 for the visitors in the last 18 minutes with a strike past Leno after he was sent through on goal by Gakpo.

The was no resting for Fulham at the back, as Klopp, with 15 minutes to go, brought on Salah and Darwin Nunez in places of Diaz and Jota for fresh legs up top.

However, the Hammers had spaces as Liverpool pressed high and Harry Wilson almost pulled a goal back two minutes before time after going through on goal but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Alisson.

Liverpool moved level on points with leaders Arsenal in second spot on the table, with an inferior goal difference.
