Arsenal secured bragging the rights in the North London derby with a 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

While the Gunners were unchanged from the win over Chelsea, their opponents opted to give starts to Ben Davies, Pierre Hojbjerg, Pedro Porro and Dusan Kulusevski.

Arsenal got off to the perfect start after taking the lead through an own goal from Hojbjerg, who nodded Bukayo Saka's corner into his own net at the near post.

The home side thought they had equalised on 22 minutes after Micky van de Ven fired home in the box, but the goal was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for an offside.

Four minutes later, the league leaders were two goals ahead as they broke on the counter through Kai Havertz's long-ball that found Saka, who skipped past one challenge before firing home.

It got better for Arsenal, who bagged a third goal on 38 minutes when Havertz got above his marker to nod home a corner from Declan Rice.

Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was a big reason Spurs were not further behind after the break, as he denied Saka's volley was a superb reaction save with his foot on the line.

The hosts did manage to pull a goal back in the 64th minute when defender Cristian Romero pounced on David Raya's poor pass out and calmly finished into the far corner.

With time running out, Spurs were awarded a penalty after Ben Davies was brought down by Rice. Son Heung-min took responsibility and calmly slotted home to set up a nervy finish.

However, Arsenal were able to see out the closing stages of the second half and cement top spot for another week.
