Chelsea extended their unbeaten run to five matches in the Premier League after playing a 2-2 draw against Lyle Foster's Burnley on Saturday evening.

South African striker Lyle Foster was back in the Burnley side to replace David Fofana, who is unable to play against his parent club, while the Blues recalled Goalkeeper Dorde Petrovi, Beniot Badiashile and Enzo Fernandez.

Mauricio Pochettino's charges thought they had got the opening goal on 20 minutes when Mykhailo Mudryk's cross found Axel Disasi, who headed past goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

Celebrations were cut short though when the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) spotted a handball before the ball was bundled over the line.

After waves of attack, the Blues were then awarded a penalty in the 40th minute when Lorenz Assignon was sent off for brining down Mudryk in the box, allowing Cole Palmer to step up and convert for the opening goal.

However, Burnley levelled matters just after the break when Josh Cullen controlled well before firing past Petrovic after some good work by Vitinho and Josh Brownhill in the build up.

Chelsea could have restored their lead in the 65th minute when Mudryk broke down the left before pulling the ball back for Nicolas Jackson, who saw his strike  turned away by Muric.

The hosts did get their second goal with 15 minutes to play as Palmer completed his brace with a lovely drilled finish after being played in by Raheem Sterling's neat flick.

The pendulum swung once again as Dara O'Shea brought the visiting side level on 80 minutes with a towering header from Cullen's in-swinging corner.
