Manchester United saw a late lead slip to draw 1-1 with Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils made no changes but kept the same eleven that started the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final victory over Liverpool before the International break.

However, a rude awakening were presented by the host towards the half-hour mark after Ivan Toney sliced through the defence and fired off the post following a through pass.

The woodwork denied the Bees again when a thumping header by Mathias Jorgensen on the back of a layoff angled off the frame of the goal-post inside the latter exchanges.

Congolese international Yoane Wissa very nearly made the opening with an acrobatic effort following a square delivery but he went wide from a decent position.

A substitution from the Red Devils were provided at the start of the second half and interestingly enough had Harry Maguire introduced for Raphael Varane.

Unlike the opening spell, the visitors showed more urgency and speedily ventured into the other half where captain Bruno Fernandes cut in at the far post to go wide from a tight angle.

Brentford came alive again minutes later after a low strike from Yegor Yarmolyuk forced a save of Andre Onana who made another stop to deny Keane Lewis-Potter’s follow-up effort.

The Bees remained confident though and hit the upright once again as a well-struck volley in the area by Wissa following a goal-mouth scramble.

United weren’t having it easy at all as the woodwork denied the Bees for a fourth time in the match off Bryan Mbuemo’s volley following a layoff from Toney.

With all the threats coming from the host, the Red Devils went ahead deep in stoppage time after Mason Mount picked up Carlos Casemiro through ball to finish with ease.

The Bees stole a point in dramatic fashion when unmarked Kristoffer Ajer connected with Toney’s layoff to slam across the area and into the net and left the spoils shared.
