With reports suggesting they want to buy an English top-flight club, Paris Saint-Germain's owners have now reportedly turned their attention to two new Premier League heavyweights following rumours of talks being held with Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) had recently held talks with Tottenham Spurs chairman Daniel Levy as they look to invest in the Premier League.

However, the London club has since told Sky Sports that this meeting did not took place.

It is said that QSI wants to expand Qatar's investment in football following the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the intention of rivalling the Abu Dhabi-backed City Football Group, who own Manchester City, New York City and Girona, among other teams.

According to Bloomberg, QSI is now interested in either taking over or making a minority investment in Manchester United and Liverpool, with both EPL giants having revealed in recent months that they are open to such a deal.

It is further claimed that a potential stake in another club will not affect the funding PSG currently receive from the Qatari organisation.

QSI already owns a 23% stake in Portuguese side SC Braga, while it is also reported that PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is in negotiations with three investors who could buy a 15% stake in the Ligue 1 log leaders.

Both United and Liverpool have been the subject of heavy interest from the Middle East in recent months, with reports linking a number of Dubai and Saudi Arabian investors with the Premier League pair.
