Liverpool have been urged to compete with Real Madrid for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is now in the final six months of his contract with the French champions, meaning he is allowed to negotiate with other clubs over a potential transfer.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with a move for the World Cup winner, but former Reds star Gary MacAllister claims Jurgen Klopp's side should also be in the running.

"I think clubs like Liverpool should always be there when a world superstar like Kylian Mbappe becomes available.
"If there's an opportunity there, and if the Mbappe deal is in line with the budgets and how the club is run, then Liverpool should be interested as far as I'm concerned.
"We'll have to see what happens style-wise. Jurgen Klopp's style is attacking and front-foot, and it would suit Mbappe.
"The world's top five or six clubs will always want to be involved when a player of that calibre becomes available, and Liverpool are a part of that group.
"Over the last few years, people have been saying that Mbappe's next step was Real Madrid, but the link with Liverpool has also been there.
"Liverpool were also in the picture when Jude Bellingham was available. I can't see a reason why they couldn't get Mbappe if the deal worked for them."
