Bayern Munich have now confirmed their stance on appointing Jurgen Klopp.

A Bayern Munich chief has now confirmed the club's stance on appointing outgoing Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Several managerial changes are set to take place at the end of the season, with a few top clubs having already confirmed that they will have a new man at the helm in 2024/25.

These include FC Barcelona, Liverpool, and Bayern, as all three giants will part ways with their current managers in June.

Amid their underwhelming fortunes this term, Bayern confirmed last month that Thomas Tuchel will see out the remainder of the season before being replaced ahead of the following campaign.

The decision came after Klopp announced that he would be leaving Anfield after a successful eight-and-a-half year spell. As such, the Reds boss has been linked with a few roles, including the German national team, but he insisted that he would take a break from coaching.

Despite Klopp's plans for a sabbatical, his name has continually been mooted in the German press and Bayern sports director Max Eberl has now put all speculation linking the tactician with the club to bed.

Speaking in an interview with Sports Bild, Erberl confirmed that he won't make a play to hire Klopp. He said: "I know what it means when you make statements like Kloppo, who said: 'I have no energy left.'

"Few can judge this better than me, having been through it. When a person says that, the job comes second. And people first. So I won’t call him."

Erbel elaborated on their current process of hiring a Tuchel replacement, adding: "There is currently no plan A, B and C. We are screening the situation: what the squad looks like, what DNA the club has, what history. We think carefully: Which trainers fit what we have? What this club radiates and wants to achieve?

"There are names that are on a list. In the end, of course, there are certain framework conditions that you rightly ask again and again: What if it takes too long? What if it gets too expensive? Or if the candidate doesn't want to? We have a list that we would like to work through in peace and have conversations in peace. Based on the information, feasibility and similarities – club, squad, coach – we try to make the best decision."
