Tanzania 0-2 Morocco

Morocco began their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign on a positive note after defeating Tanzania on Tuesday evening.

The Taifa Stars were up against it, as the Atlas Lions rolled out the big guns in Yassine Bounou, Nayef Aguerd, Romain Saiss, Noussair Mazraoui, Achraf Hakimi and Hakim Ziyech to mention but a few.

Hakimi got a chance to put the North African giants ahead with a third minute penalty, but he failed to hit the target. Although, the defender's blushes were spared as Ziyech made the breakthrough later on.

Morocco increased their cushion during the final stages when Lusajo Mwaikenda tucked the ball into his own net before Novatus Miroshi got his marching orders on the back of a coming-together.

Togo 0-0 Senegal

African champions Senegal were denied a consecutive win in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers but were held to a goalless draw by Togo in Group B clash on Tuesday.

A star-studded line-up from the visitors saw Sadio Mane, Cheikhou Kouyate, Ismaila Sarr, Kalidou Koulibaly and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy starting.

The continental kings stormed past the little known South Sudan 4-0 in their group opener, whereas Togo were kept at bay by Sudan in their qualifying opener.

At this point and given the result, the Teranga Lions remain at the top of the group with in fourth spot and on two points from two draws played.

Libya 1-1 Cameroon

Cameroon failed to maintain their perfect start in Group D after playing to a 1-1 draw against Libya on Tuesday night.

A penalty from Olivier Ntcham got the Indomitable Lions off to the ideal start late in the first half, but the Libyans bounced back swiftly and levelled courtesy of Abdulmunem Aleiyan.

The share of the spoils in Tripoli leaves the five-time African champions at the summit of the group standings, while Libya occupy third-place.

Comoros 1-0 Ghana

Ghana lost top spot and dropped to fourth-place following a shock 1-0 loss to the Comoros Islands in in a top-of-the-table Group I clash at the Stade de Moroni.

Both nations were on the winning side in their group openers and were keen to continue their perfect starts in this six-pointer.

However, the Comoros had other ideas and stole all the points on offer as Myziane Maolida’s first half finish proved the difference on the day.

Botswana 1-0 Guinea

Botswana got their campaign for the World Cup qualifiers off the mark through a gutsy 1-0 win over Guinea in a Group G encounter.

The Zebras are now second in the group standings, two points adrift the leaders Algeria with the Syli National in third spot.

As a draw seemed on the cards, the Zebras stole the full complement of points when Thabang Sesinyi’s assist saw Kabelo Seakanyeng capitalise to bag the winning strike.

Lesotho 0-0 Benin

Benin collected their first point in the qualifiers with a goalless draw against Lesotho in a Group C showdown played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

After losing their group opener on Saturday to South Africa, the Cheetahs looked to bounce back and get their campaign off the ground.

Lesotho, who impressively held Nigeria in their own backyard, are now on two points from successive draws and languish fourth on the standings with Benin at the bottom.
