DR Congo' TP Mazembe have reportedly turned down the chance to use the services of one of CAF's new sponsorship partner ahead of the start of the African Football League.

One of the continent's footballing giants has now reportedly rejected a certain offer from CAF ahead of their opening African Football League clash this weekend.

Africa's new flagship tournament is set to get underway on Friday, with eight teams from across the continent ready to compete for a lucrative $4 million (R75 million) in prize money for the winner.

TP Mazembe are set face Esperance on Sunday, in the first leg of their quarter-final that was rescheduled by the African Football League after the DR Congo government refused to approve visa clearances for CAF's broadcasting equipment for the game and certain dignitaries.

The game was initially set to take place in Lubumbashi, but has since been moved to Dar es Salaam in Tanzania.

In a scathing statement earlier this week, the central African side blasted their government for their blatant lack of co-operation and accused the state of unfair treatment.

However, it is now reported that there is yet another contentious incident involving the Congolese giants.

According to Journal La Nouvelle Afrique, Mazembe have declined CAF's offer to travel with Rwandair and to wear the "Visit Rwanda" logo on their jerseys against Esperance.

African football's organising body recently reached an agreement with Rwandair whereby they would be the air transport partner for the tournament, and would take the eight participating teams to and from matches free of charge when necessary, but the Ravens have categorically rejected the offer.

The report claims that Mazembe would prefer to use their president's airplane for their trip to Tanzania, with their refusal said to be down to the fact that Rwanda supports the M23 rebels, a radical group that opposes the current Congo government.

Meanwhile, CAF also confirmed Visit Saudi as the AFL's main sponsor on Tuesday, per The Citizen Tanzania.

President Patrice Motsepe said: "We are delighted to welcome Visit Saudi as the main sponsor of the inaugural African Football League. This is a significant partnership for African football, and it is a testament to the growing popularity of the sport in both Africa and Saudi Arabia."
