Chiefs refuse to give up on title chase

accreditation

At present Chiefs sit 19 points behind Sundowns but they have two games in hand plus another two matches still pending in the PSL DRC boardrooms after they failed to honour fixtures against Cape Town City and Golden Arrows in December due to covid related reasons.

So, at best they could trim Sundowns’ lead by 12 points depending on the outcome of the games hanging.

AmaKhosi must still play The Brazilians in the reserve fixture.

“The league is long,” argues Frosler.

“We will just go out there and try to get maximum points in every game because you never know what could happen. There are still games left and you never know what could come from it.

"We just go out there and do the best of our abilities. We are not worried about what other people are doing," notes Frosler refusing to speak like his teammate Njabulo Blom who has already indicated that they are playing for the second place.

First, up for Chiefs this weekend is the huge hurdle presented by Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby.

Though the game is being played without fans at FNB Stadium it will still carry its worth in points.

"It is exciting with a bit of nerves here and there though not as much of nerves without the fans. I would love for the fans to come back but I’m excited and hope to get a game and get a shot to do what I know best. Mostly excitement and eagerness.

"We have watched quite a bit of Pirates, so we know what they want to do and what they want to try and do. So, we know more or less what to expect from a team like Pirates because we have played them for years and we have watched them.

"They played a CAF game the other day and they won convincingly so I think we know that the CAF and the league are two different things so we have done our homework and we will go out there and do our best so that we come out with the result," says Frosler.
