Thalente Mbatha has expressed his desire to make his move to Orlando Pirates a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Mbatha joined Pirates from SuperSport United in January this year on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old midfielder's move to the Mighty Buccaneers came as a surprise after failing to command regular game time at SuperSport United.

Mbatha has since gone on to make two appearances in both the Nedbank Cup and DStv Premiership and made huge impressions in the black and white colors.

The Kwazulu Natal-born midfielder has termed his move to Orlando Pirates as a dream come true.

"It was like a dream come true. I didn’t believe it at first until they called again.

"The second call I didn’t answer until I got home to make sure that I was next to my mother,” Mbatha told journalists at the Rand stadium on Monday.

"I am hoping to get as much game time as I can as I would be a better player.

"If I get a game time it would build my confidence more and I hope they would make the deal permanent because it’s a big institution," he added.

Mbatha is expected to keep his place in the starting line when Bucs take on Cape Town Spurs in the DStv Premiership match at the Orlando stadium in Soweto tonight.
