Nascimento spent a season and a half playing for Royal AM but left unhappy in May 2023 after a breach of his contract.

Following multiple failed attempts to resolve the matter amicably with the club, the 36-year-old then took up the matter to FIFA which he won.

Royal AM were ordered to pay R600 000 (PLUS 5% interest) but their non-compliance led to a three window transfer ban being imposed.

After KickOff.com reported on the matter, the club then released a statement detailing the matter which included their request for a motivated decision from FIFA and subsequent withdrawal of their CAS appeal.

They stated that they are in the process of clarifying the matter with FIFA and Nascimento’s legal representatives and have already provided proof of payment to the world governing body with the ban due to be lifted in due course.

Five weeks later, Nascimento’s representative confirm that there have been no developments with no payment made as per the club’s claim.
