Former Orlando Pirates striker Andries Sebola has applauded the club’s decision to release Nkanyiso Zungu and added his thoughts on the player movements at the club.

Ezikamagebhula have parted ways with veteran striker Ndumiso Mabena, Craig Martin, Kopano Thuntsane, Ntsako Makhubela and Zungu.

“Nkanyiso Zungu is gone because if you remember when they loaned him to Richards Bay FC he became ill-disciplined,” Sebola tells KickOff.

"Lack of discipline killed his Pirates career. The boy is not disciplined, he drinks too much, he beats up women. If you play for teams like Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and you are not disciplined you will lose your job.

“I’m a little bit disappointed because Mabena, they didn’t give him enough game-time. Maybe they focused more on his age, he’s a good striker with experience Mabena, he’s better than the likes of Eva Nga," the former Bucs goal poacher added.

“Pirates are going to Africa so they need to reinforce their striking force. Makhubela, I understand he is on-loan from Golden Arrows, so they still need him at Arrows. He must just go back there and play because at least that side he was enjoying game-time.

“Craig Martin, Chippa United is a good move for him because the Port Elizabeth weather is more the same like the Cape Town weather. Cape Town players always struggle inland, very few have managed to shine.

“A good example is Iqraam Rayners who went to SuperSport United, he struggled, but performed well once he returned to Stellenbosch FC. Kopano Thuntsane, I don’t know much about him, he was also not given enough chance to play,” Sebola concluded.
