Former defender Siyabonga Sangweni insists Saturday’s Nedbank Cup quarter-final clash against Dondol Stars will prove a comfortable win for Orlando Pirates.
Dondol have already put DStv Premiership clubs such as SuperSport United and AmaZulu FC to the sword.
The last time EzikaMagebhula were defeated by an amateur side in the Nedbank Cup was in 2013 against Maluti FET College.
Despite having the late Senzo Meyiwa, Bheki Nzunga, Thabo Matlaba, Happy Jele, Ayanda Gcaba, Lehlogonolo Masalesa, Onyekachi Okonkwo, Oupa Manyisa, Sifiso Myeni and Collins Mbesuma in their line-up, the Soweto giants were beaten 4-1 by the college side.
"In my opinion, there is nothing that the Dondol Stars players can do to Pirates,” Sangweni tells KickOff.
“I trust the Orlando Pirates players to do what is expected of them, we want this cup.
“Since we’ve missed out on the league title this is the closest big cup. I don’t see Dondol causing an upset. We need to close the season with a trophy.
“Though we are sometimes not clinical in front of goals this time around I trust them to put everything away.
“The way they’ve been playing lately Pirates you can tell the style and culture is coming back. They are now working as a team.
“The only thing missing now is a box striker. Someone who will just stand there and put everything away.”
