Following a recent assessment with a Premier League club, Orlando Pirates attacker Relebohile Mofokeng has been backed for a move abroad from a teammate.

The emergence of Mofokeng as one of the brightest young prospects in the DStv Premiership has been the cherry on top for a Pirates side that’s already tasted silverware this season, successfully define their MTN8 title.

Unsurprisingly Mofokeng has attracted interest from beyond the shores of South Africa and recently went on a trial with Premier League side Wolverhampton.

While Mofokeng awaits a response from Wolves, his teammate, Sandile Mthethwa is convoked that the 19-year-old is destined for a move abroad, regardless.

"I think he is a good young player and he has shown what he can give to the club and to the country also," Mthethwa said on the sidelines of the MultiChoice Player Transition Programme launch.

"I think there is a lot more that is still coming from him but the only thing I can say is he should just be humble and continue respect.

"He will go [abroad], for me, he is an abroad player, he needs to go abroad. I’m not saying the PSL is not good but I feel like to play in the Champions League, to play in the big stages you have to go abroad.

"So for me, he has to play abroad.
