Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa says he's back at the club to score goals after netting a hat-trick against Golden Arrows.

Mabasa netted a hat-trick in a 7-1 drubbing of Golden Arrows and became a joint-top goal-scorer equal in the league with Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa on ten goals.

Mabasa could not stress enough how everything fell into place after they dropped points in two consecutive matches.

"I don't have enough words to describe what I'm feeling right now. The game that we've just managed to display for the people, I mean we had to fix the mistakes that we made in our past two games," Mabasa told SuperSport TV after he was handed his Man of the Match award.

"Because I feel like we deserved the three points but we never took our chances and today we finally took our chances and the score-line reflects that perfectly," he said.

The 27-year-old carried on and praised the combinations and the talent that is on display at Pirates.

"It's crazy, this is a talented team and honestly if we can believe in the abilities that we have and work together as a team and listen to instructions, we can go very far with this team," he said.

"And like I said a few weeks ago, they will begin to notice what Orlando Pirates is about."

Mabasa also explained why carries the names of his uncle and cousin on his bandaged wrist.

"These are just people who have helped me on my football journey, they've supported this club as well and when I started playing football, they gave me the most support and I'll always attribute each and every game to them," he revealed.

"Because I feel like they played a big role in my career until now. I know that they are watching over me and they are proud of the work that I have been doing so far."

The former Bloemfontein Celtic striker went on and explained the motivation behind his celebration, spreading his hands to the crowd.

"It's just for people to know that I'm back home and I'm here to score goals and that's exactly what I wanna do," he added.

"It's a match-ball, that means three goals, I'm happy, happy for the team performance and definitely we need to improve and get the result and we've been doing that, so I'm just happy and grateful for that," Mabasa concluded.
