Mamelodi Sundowns will feel the pinch of their heaviest month ever after CAF confirmed another development.

Mamelodi Sundowns will continue to be stretched to the extremes in fulfilling the frantic fixtures programme after confirmation of the second leg of their CAF Champions League semi-final.

Sundowns have taken the long trip to Tunis, where they face Esperance on Saturday in the first leg of their last four tie.

The Brazilians have travelled to North Africa after having played Moroka Swallows on a rare Monday night league match.

Last Friday, they were stretched to penalties in proceeding to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after having travelled to Cape Town Spurs on the Tuesday prior.

They had played Young Africans, Richards Bay FC and Yanga again in the previous week.

After Saturday’s match in Tunis, Rulani Mokwena and his crew will have to host Sekhukhune United on Tuesday in a re-arranged league match.

CAF has now confirmed that their second leg against Esperance will be played on Friday night – April 26 – at Loftus Versfeld.

The Brazilians cannot play the match on Saturday (April 27) as the venue in Tshwane will be used by the Blue Bulls for their rugby commitments.

Downs’ second leg match had been kept under the ‘to be determined’ blanket since confirmation of their progression to the semi-finals.

After their second leg Champions League match, Sundowns will then travel to FNB Stadium for a date with Kaizer Chiefs on April 30, which will be their ninth game of the month.
