The path of Mamelodi Sundowns’ CAF Champions League campaign will be determined on Tuesday prior to their Tshwane Derby meeting against SuperSport United.
It is no secret that the Champions League is the priority trophy for Sundowns as it comes with another reward of USD4 million (approx. R75 million) and consecutive appearances at the FIFA Club World Cup, with big money on offer.

Winners of this year’s Champions League will play at the 2024 Club World Cup and then again at next year’s expanded competition.
As continental kings, there will also be the one-match CAF Super Cup to play for against the Confederation Cup winners, which has USD500 000 (approx. R9,3 million) for the winners.
For the quarterfinals draw today, The Brazilians will be seeded having been one of four group winners who also enjoy the benefits of playing the second legs at home.
The consequences of being seeded is that Sundowns will avoid the three group winners Al Ahly, Petro de Luanda and ASEC Mimosas, plus TP Mazembe who finished second in their group as teams from the same group cannot be fixtured be drawn to play against each other in the last eight.
With those guidelines, the Chloorkop-based outfit will come up against any of four-time winners and Tunisian giants Esperance, Simba SC or Young Africans.

The draw is set for 14h00.
The first leg of the quarterfinals is scheduled for March 29-30, with the second leg slotted in for April 5-6.
