Sono: Rulani, Ramovic should do the talking on the field

South African football legend Jomo Sono has criticised both his nephew Rulani Mokwena and TS Galaxy FC coach Sead Ramovic for their recent public spat.

The two coaches have been involved in a war of words recently, with Ramovic labeling the Mamelodi Sundowns coach a liar, while Mokoena has described the German-born coach as an attention seeker.

Sono exclusively reveals to KickOff that he plans to sit down with both coaches so they can iron out their differences.

"What Rulani and the Galaxy coach are doing is not good for football at all," Sono tells KickOff.

"And both of them are young coaches, and they've got a bright future.

"They still got a long way to go both of them, it's not right for coaches to attack each other like this in the media.

"Even Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho never attacked each other like these two are doing right now. Rivalry is good for 90 minutes then after that it should be finished. It should not go beyond 90 minutes.

"It's a common problem here at home for a rivalry to go beyond 90 minutes, 180 minutes, they are young and they both have a bright future as coaches in football.

"They need somebody who will show them the way, the game is bigger than all of us.

"But I will speak to Rulani if he can find time out of his busy schedule because we do speak me and him.

"I'm not saying one must apologize to the other, nobody must apologize, they must just cut it off and focus on their coaching jobs and then that's it.

"It should be about football and not be about the two coaches, people go to the Stadium to watch football and not the coaches. It's about the players.

"It's not about us coaches or us as chairmen, sometimes we tend to make this thing as if people buy tickets to watch us when in fact they do so to watch the players.

"The players are the ones important, without them the matches cannot take place.

"The rivalry should only take place on the field and end there. I hope sanity will prevail, so I will try to talk to both of them, they are very important coaches in this country, and they are two very good coaches. They should prove each other on the field of play.

"What do you get by insulting each other as coaches? They must beat each other on the field of play.

"They should just stop it and beat the hell out of each other on the pitch. The fighting in the papers is not right, these are professional coaches."
