Khuliso Mudau has been forced out for almost two months due to an injury that has left Rulani Mokwena 'disappointed a bit'.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has outlined the injury worries that have greeted him with Bafana Bafana players returning from the AFCON finals.

Sundowns had 10 players in the squad that finished third with Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, and Aubrey Modiba playing every minute.

Downs also had Khuliso Mudau, Mothobi Mvala, Grant Kekana, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Morena, Terrence Mashego, and Thapelo Maseko all getting minutes.

However, not all players have returned in good health.

"But some of it is not even by choice, you know," responds Mokwena upon being asked about why the dynamics of return of players that were with Bafana with Williams and Mashego the two that have played out of 10.

"Mothobi (Mvala) is out and will probably be out for 6-8 weeks.

"Sailor (Khulio Mudau) is out, and he will be out for about 6-8 weeks also with a high-end grade three.

"We all saw that when he got injured, he still played which disappoints me a little bit.

"Ronza (Ronwen Williams) is struggling with a shoulder injury so today, we tried to rest him and give him some time.

"Mshishi (Themba Zwane) also has a bit of a niggle, so with some of the players that came from Bafana it is not even about whether we want to give them a break or not.

"We can’t use them… They have returned with some serious injuries.

"Okay, it is what it is, and we have to try to use the rest of the squad.

"You saw today, and you saw against Pirates that they have the quality to compete so that is the responsibility that they all have," details Mokwena.

Next up for Sundowns is the long trip to Nouakchott where they have a CAF Champions League date with Mauritania champions FC Nouadhibou on February 24.
