The success of Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations has increased overseas interest in the services of Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena.

Bafana had ten players from Sundowns in the AFCON squad, with at least eight players forming the majority of head coach Hugo Broos' line-ups.

South Africa shocked the continent and the world at the biennial tournament with their daring football of building from the back and dominating possession against elite sides like number one-ranked Morocco, who have superstars all over the line-up playing for big teams in Europe such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

The Brazilians received much credit for Bafana's display, with South Africa's style of play believed to be instilled in them by their club coach Mokwena.

The 37-year-old's agent Steve Kapeluschnik has confirmed that overseas interest has continued to pour in for the Johannesburg-born coach.

"There's always interest in Rulani but Rulani is very happy at Sundowns, interest in Rulani is always interesting (to) him, I mean it has been like that for long," Kapeluschnik told Kickoff.

"I have a lot of approaches for his services more than anything, to be honest with you, but he's very happy where he is," he said.

When pressed on what it would take for Mokwena to leave Sundowns, Kapeluschnik did not want to speculate on his future.

"I can't speculate on those things, you know he's doing well. He's doing great in a local league, he's competing in Africa, he's happy," the seasoned agent went on.

"I don't want to speculate on what it would take or whatever, at the moment he's kind of focused on where he is," he added.
