Kaizer Chiefs will have major financial decisions to make again this season with another top earner Keagan Dolly faced with questions about if he has been worthy of his earnings at the club.

Just like was the case with Khama Billiat last season, Dolly is on a heavy package at Chiefs and is going through the last year on his contract with injury struggles.

Those injury concerns have meant Dolly has played only five games this season while missing 15.

Those appearances have carried the weight of 315 minutes with a return of just one assist.

Dolly – who turns 31 on Monday, is going through his longest run without scoring with his last strike having come on April 1 against Stellenbosch.

The current season is turning out to be the worst that Dolly has had through his time at Chiefs where he has had above average marks.

Just last season, Dolly delivered six goals (plus five assists) from 31 games in a Chiefs team that struggled for consistency under Arthur Zwane.

Dolly also had encouraging numbers in his first season with eight goals (plus five assists) from 28 appearances.

However, the subject of his package will take centre in informing the direction of the discussions with high end earnings needing to be backed by performance.

Billiat suffered the same fate with his earnings twice reduced for the new deal that he was offered after battling with injuries in his last season.

Chiefs have 14 league games plus the Nedbank Cup to play this season, giving Dolly a minimum of another 15 games to argue his case on the field.
