Midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has addressed questions about his future, with his current deal at Kaizer Chiefs set to expire at the of the season.

The 31-year-old is one of several players at Chiefs who are yet to be offered a new deal with his current contract set to expire in two months' time.

Other names on that list include Njabulo Ngcobo and Keagan Dolly.

Unsurprisingly, questions have been raised on whether the club sees Sithebe as a player worth keeping beyond this season.

After all, the dreadlocked midfielder has made just five appearances this season, four of which only came in Amakhosi’s last four matches.

Before that, Sithebe was almost a forgotten figure in the Chiefs squad list, in the midst of a season plagued by injuries, coaching changes and inconsistencies in form.

Nevertheless, the former AmaZulu FC man is determined to keep his focus on performing well in the Soweto giants' remaining encounters of the season.

"No, I would say, obviously the contract is ending, but as a player, I need to focus [on football] right now because the team needs me a lot.

"There is a lot of pressure to play [well] in the remaining three games. I think, on the contract, I will start focusing on it at the end of the season."
