Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson says they should control games better after the narrow win over Moroka Swallows on Sunday afternoon.

After a goalless first stanza, Christian Saile snatched the winner for Chiefs with ten minutes to go at Dobsonville Stadium.

The Glamour Boys had a number of chances after forcing errors from Swallows in the first stanza and could not take them.

Johnson suggested the away victory against Swallows, who are placed ahead of them on the log is the right step in the right direction.

"When we are now at the moment, we have so much, not negative, faults in our team, I think to come out and play against a team that's number three (five) on the log and you take three points away from them, from home and then you play a good game," Johnson told SuperSport TV.

"I thought we could have put two nice ones, we get two chances in the first-half where I thought we could have scored, we didn't score.

"But in saying that, Saile scores, it pleases you to see those moments come (off) in a game but it displeases you sometimes when you have the game in the hand and we don't really take control of the game," he said.

"It's something that I think Chiefs have a role to play in it, to be able to control that better. If it's 1-0, 2-0, 5-0 it doesn't matter, we must learn to control our game a lot better," he added.
