Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has demanded more from the players after failing to a third success game.

The Amakhosi came off a penalty shoot-out loss to Milford Stallions in the Nedbank Cup and were backed to redeem themselves, but it wasn’t to be.

Johnson believes the team started positively but soon dropped and didn’t penetrate the wide areas like they would’ve wanted before the match.

“Ja, in one moment, we came out, we came out strong and then we died and that was not good for us because we knew the space in the game against Swallows was always going to be on the wide areas,” Johnson told SuperSport TV.

“We tried to going down there, but we lost the ball too quick. I think as the game in the second half got older and older, we lost the ball too quick and that was worrying for me because we came back in the second half and we suffered a red card,” he added.

Matters were made worse for the Amakhosi a minute in the second half when Mozambican international Edmilson Dove saw red for a professional foul on Gabadinho Mhango.

“I don’t know if it’s a red card, but it looks like Dove takes one for the team. But in all respect after that, I don’t think we were better with ten-men than we were with 11 and we could’ve stolen it in the last (minute).

“I think we had a nice, nice chance where Saile and Ash had the ball and they were supposed to go inside, could’ve stole it but it was not to be, we’ll take the point.

“But again disappointed, this is FNB and we are supposed to be dominant the whole game and that’s want I want from the players. They are supposed to be dominant the whole game and six games a clean sheet, it says something but not enough for me. The players have to do more,” Johnson said.
