TS Galaxy climbed up to fifth in the DStv Premiership table after securing a 2-1 victory over Moroka Swallows 2-1 on Friday evening.

Swallows made two changes from their draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, as Tlakusani Mthethwa and Siyabonga Khumalo were recalled.

Galaxy, on the other hand, kept the same side that lost to Stellenbosch, except the introduction of Mpho Mvelase back to the line-up.

The Birds settled the quickest, as within the first three minutes, Lantshene Phalane had a shot kept out of the bottom corner by goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari.

TG Galaxy took time to get into the game and waited for their moments and were clinical with their first chance at goal ten minutes before the break after Sphiwe Mahlangu broke the deadlock with a header in the box.

Swallows struggled to create chances after going behind and needed to come up with a different plan from the break to get back into the game.

The Soweto outfit made an attacking change at half-time as Lwanda Mbanjwa replaced Mthethwa.

However, Swallows could still not create clear chances in the early exchanges of the second stanza and went 2-0 behind on the hour-mark after Samir Nurkovic found the back of the net for Galaxy with a strike in the box.

The Birds had to pull up their socks and had a lifeline with ten minutes remaining after Gabadinho Mhango reduced the deficit with a goal from the penalty spot.

With the game back to life in the dying minutes, Sead Ramovic's charges managed to hold on to a win that moved them up to fifth on the log.

Confirmed line-ups:

Moroka Swallows: Akpeyi, Mphahlele, Nqgonga, Mngonyama, Nyauza, Sanou, Phalane, Mthethwa, Mahlonoko, Khumalo, Mhango

Subs: Mbanjwa, Maponya, Tshanini, S.Sibiya, V.Sibiya, Mbanjwa, Khupe, Rampa, Koapeng
