The versatile 24-year-old can play anywhere across the backline and has also been used as defensive midfielder. Petrus would have already be somewhat accustomed to South African football havingplayed the full 90 minutes when Namibia took on Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana in September last year.

For City, he adds some much-needed steel to the side's defensive prowess as they look to end a run of two consecutive defeats that has seen them slip down to fifth on the DStv Premiership table.
The defender will be aiming to make an immediate impact and may get his chance on 30 March when City take on Kaizer Chiefs in a DStv Premiership fixture.
