Uthongathi have confirmed the departure of head coach Papi Zothwane ahead of the new season.

The KwaZulu-Natal side finished eighth in the GladAfrica Championship last season, nine points adrift of the top three.

Uthongathi have now announced they have reached an agreement with the former Golden Arrows star to part ways.

"Uthongathi Football Club announces that the club along with Coach Papi Zothwane has reached an agreement to amicably part ways," the club tweeted.

"We would like to thank him for his exceptional service. We wish him well in his future endeavors #TheCanecutters."

The newly revamped Motsepe Foundation Championship (previously the GladAfrica) kicks off in the first week of September.
