Former team manager Mlungisi Ngubane has blamed Black Leopards club chairman David Thidiela for the club's downfall after being relegated from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Lidoda Duvha will now play in the ABC Motsepe League next season after suffering an alarming downfall out of the professional ranks.

Ngubane insists Leopards' issues began when the club decided to let go of himself, former head coach Lionel Soccoia and assistant Patrick Mabedi back in 2019.

"I warned them about this when Chief Thidiela addressed me. He said to me ‘Hey Prof there is something you were doing right because the players don’t want you to leave,” Ngubane tells KickOff.

“My response was ‘Only an idiot doesn’t see what is happening.’

“Because when I came here, I changed a lot of things when it came to the discipline of the players.

“But they were not happy for me to be there, Chief and Elijah [manager Mulaudzi]. Those two guys are the ones who killed Black Leopards.

“But I cannot blame them, I can only blame David because he knew that these guys were bad but he still kept them there.

“I told them it’s fine we are leaving but we are not the problem of this team, the problem of this team remains.

“They asked ‘What do you mean?’ I said if you Chief and Elijah are still here the problems will continue. Unfortunately, it happened.

“They run things the way they want. They don’t have Ubuntu and professionalism. They don’t want to see people happy around them.

“They want people to feel they are the bosses of this team; they are the ones who make decisions. So, I don’t feel sorry.

“David, he let this thing happen to his club. I would sometimes ask myself if David really loved Black Leopards.

“Nothing was professional with Black Leopards when it came to treatment. They deserve everything that’s happening to them.

“The way they were running that team, everybody was complaining.

“Things they were doing to me were very bad. But I will leave that one for my book.

“But as their former employee, I’m not surprised. That’s all I can say. I’m not surprised.”

Informed about Ngubane’s claims Leopards chairman David Thidiela was not so welcoming.

“What does [this] have to do with me, Is my surname Ngubane? Why are people poking their noses into Thidiela’s issues? Please don’t do this.”
