Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 0-2 Polokwane City

Polokwane City maintained top spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship with a 2-0 win over struggling Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC on Sunday.

The goals came in either from the Rise and Shine and secured consecutive wins on the back of their midweek success at Magesi FC, while Tshakhuma’s poor run of form continues.

Black Leopards 1-2 Pretoria Callies

Black Leopards losing run and struggle to climb off the bottom of the table continued after picking up a 2-1 loss against Pretoria Callies.

Callies led at the break before Lidoda Duvha got a glimmer of hope thereafter only for the Romans to go and snatched the maximum points and boost their own fight against the dreaded drop.

University of Pretoria 1-1 Venda Football Academy

University of Pretoria lost further ground with the top-three contingent following a 1-1 draw against the Venda Football Academy.

AmaTuks were ahead at the halftime interval courtesy of Khomotso Marebane’s effort, but Venda were given a penalty in the second half and Rhulani Manzini tucked away to level it up.

It is not the result that the visitors would have wanted as it dropped them down the bottom-three, while AmaTuks moved down to eight on the table.

Hungry Lions FC 1-1 Cape Town Spurs

Cape Town Spurs five-match winning run came to an end after a 1-1 draw against Hungry Lions FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Saturday.

The visitors were ahead following a goalless first half and threatened victory with a finish from top-scorer Ashley Cupido.

Lions snatched a point in the remaining three minutes with a spot-kick from Muzomuhle Khanyi and denied the promotion-chasing Spurs maximum points.

Casric Stars 0-0 Magesi FC

Casric Stars missed the chance to cement third spot and close-in to the top-two following a goalless draw against Magesi FC at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

Stars surrendered their top-two spot in midweek with another stalemate against Venda Football Academy, while Magesi lost to Polokwane City.

All Stars FC 1-1 Platinum City Rovers

Platinum City Rovers’ unbeaten run extended to seven matches as they rallied back for a 1-1 draw against All Stars FC out at the Tsakane Stadium.

All Stars were quick out of the starting blocks through Justice Figareido, but Rovers wrestled back and forced a point courtesy of Khanyisani Luthuli.

The point keeps the visitors in the bottom-half, whilst the host remain tight in the top-six bracket on the Championship table.

Baroka FC 1-1 NB La Masia

Baroka FC stuttering run of form continued after battling out a 1-1 draw against NB La Masia and failed to push further up the table.

In-form Dan Ndlovu continued his momentum in front of goal with the opener for the host in the second half before Yusuf Jappie rescued a point for the travelling outfit minutes from time.

JDR Stars 1-3 Uthongathi FC

JDR Stars’ push towards the top-three took another twist following a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Uthongathi FC.

Ishmael Wadi gave the host a dream opening and bagged his tenth strike of the season, but Tshepo Liphoko quickly put the Cane Cutters back on level terms.

The Cane Cutters upped the tally after the break through Thato Mohlamme and left Mlondi Mbanjwa to put the icing on the cake and steered his side towards the top-half.
