Magesi FC 2-0 Baroka FC

Magesi FC top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship table following a 2-0 win over fifth-place Baroka FC.

Zimbabwean and former Kaizer Chiefs winger Edmore Chirambadare hit the opening with a spectacular free-kick in the middle of the first period.

The host entered the break energised and doubled the lead when Wonderboy Makhubu finished off a well-taken move to leave Magesi to victory and Bakgaga without a point.

Platinum City Rovers 0-0 University of Pretoria

The University of Pretoria failed to regain top spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after a goalless draw with the relegation-threatened Platinum City Rovers on Sunday.

Before the match, AmaTuks lost sight of the summit after Orbit College’s win over Venda Football Academy and have since been unable to reclaimed it but lie second on the table.

Milford Stallions 1-3 Hungry Lions

Milford Stallions didn’t manage to build on their Nedbank Cup success over Kaizer Chiefs and succumbed 3-1 to Hungry Lions in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Friday.

Raymond Daniels got matters rolling in the second half before Ronaldo Van Neel and Vuyolwethu Dinge added to leave the host shattered despite a consolation from the spot through Thobela Sikhakhane.

It’s a successive win for Lions who cements their top-half spot, whilst the loss leaves the host drop further down the table and occupy 13th place.

Maritzburg United 1-0 NB La Masia

Maritzburg United continued their winning run of form in all competitions after edging NB La Masia 1-0 to go into ninth spot on the table.

The winning strike came from Namibian international Joslin Kamatuka to leave the Westbury-side without a point as well as without a win since the turn of the year.

Venda Football Academy 1-2 Orbit College

Orbit College got back to winning ways after seeing off Venda Football Academy 2-1 on Saturday.

Not the result Venda had wanted as they slumped into the relegation zone as goals from Gomolemo Khoto and key men Mbulelo Wagaba did the business.

For Venda though, it was left to a certain Tshovelo Mathebula but it was just a consolation and nothing more thus Orbit burst to victory.

JDR Stars 2-3 Upington City

JDR Stars continued to lose sight with the top-half and dropped further down the table after going down 3-2 to Upington City in Soshanguve.

A brace from one-time top flight striker Prince Nxumalo wasn’t enough to help the Hammerboys salvage something off the tie.

Instead, a double from former Mamelodi Sundowns and the resurgent Keletso Makgalwa in addition to a strike by Bokang Mokwena guided Bafana Ba Gucci to victory.

Casric Stars 0-2 Black Leopards

Black Leopards leapfrogged Casric Stars in the top-half of the table through a 2-0 victory out at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.

It’s a back-to-back win for Lidoda Duvha, whilst the host are unable to build onto last weekend’s impressive victory over title-chasing Orbit College.

Pretoria Callies 1-0 Marumo Gallants FC

Pretoria Callies continued their steady surge away from the table and edged Marumo Gallants FC 1-0 in a mid-table encounter in the nation’s capital.

The Romans were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup last weekend on post-match penalties by Stellenbosch FC, but have now redeemed themselves as Mpho Mvundlela netted the winner.
