Banyana Banyana qualified for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with Janine van Wyk breaking a record with her 185th appearance on Monday afternoon.

Van Wyk made history after another start as she surpassed Egypt legend Ahmed Hassan to become the most capped African player (men and women) with her 185th cap.

Much like her last appearance for Banyana in the first leg over the weekend, Van Wyk did not finish the full game and instead was taken off after seven minutes.

Lebohang Ramalepe came on to replace the veteran defender, who has now brought an end to her footballing career for both international and the domestic scene.

The first half ended goalless, but Desiree Ellis' troops did not have to wait long for the opening goal in the second half when Linda Motlhalo scored from the penalty spot on 55 minutes.

Banyana wrapped up the contest with four minutes left on the clock, as Nicole Michael found the back of the net to seal South Africa's ticket to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.
