Former Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena has applauded head coach Hugo Broos for bold changes including replacing Siyanda Xulu and Thapelo Maseko for Grant Kekana and Thapelo Morena.

Bafana Bafana collected their first win in the AFCON with a dominant 4-0 display against neighbours Namibia on Sunday night.

Goals came from Percy Tau and Themba Zwane who scored twice before substitute Thapelo Maseko put the final nail on The Brave Warriors coffin with a fourth.

Speaking on SABC Sport after the match, Mokoena said that the two changes made by Broos since a 2-0 defeat to Mali were ultimately the game-changing factors.

"It was a great call from Hugo Broos you know, by taking big decisions at times, bringing in Kekana for Xulu, bringing Morena in.

"Those two factors from me, I think really they have changed you know dimension of our team.

"I mean Kekana came strong, that synergy again between him and Mvala, it worked very well. Morena is experienced and that aggressive to ask questions going forward, to putting those courses, when the when the ball is on the left side, he was eager to get in the box.

"I mean for me, I think great attitude from the boys to bounce back and hopefully against Tunisia they will show even more.

The win takes Bafana up to second spot in Group E while Namibia slip down to third. Next for South Africa is a clash against bottom-of-the-group Tunisia on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 19:00.
