WC stars follow Ronaldo's lead

There appears to be a growing trend among 2022 FIFA World Cup stars who are choosing to personally customising their gear. Check it out!

What Happened?

A number of players are paying more attention to their appearance and in the age of wanting to stand out, footballers are doing many things to set themselves apart from the rest.

Customising start when players began to put their names on shirts as opposed to just having a number at the back. This then moved onto players making trademark celebrations that make them stand out and go on to become iconic.

Later, it led to players putting their names on their boots to give it a personal touch while goalkeepers would have their name on their gloves.

It has now moved onto shinguards with many stars using putting images of their partners, families or any other dedications to their clubs and even themselves.

We have previously seen Ronaldo wear shinpads of him and his partner and now many have followed suit.

England's Bukayo Saka has an image of Arsenal so there is no doubt that the London club is among the most important parts of his life.

Brazil star Raphinha has a photo of himself on his shinguards with the message that is translated to "bring the cup home", according to The Sun.

Meanwhile, Germany's Antonio Rudiger has a photo of a fist punching the air with his signature.
