Fans hit back at Rulani Mokwena's offside claim

With Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena expressing his shock at the referee's decision to award Moroka Swallows a late equaliser after it initially disallowed, readers have stepped in to give their verdict.

What's the story?

Swallows came from a two-goal deficit to clinch a point but Gabadinho Mhango's 84th minute equaliser has sparked some controversy as the had initially been disallowed for offside. It was a decision that Mokwena labelled as "shocking".

Check out what readers had to say about the matter:

"I remember last week when media ask Rulani Mokwena about the penalty they get when they were playing against Capetown City. He said, God loves us all. So he must not be surprised, God also loves Moroka swallows," says Chester Ruel Nkuna.

"I think Rhulani Mokoena was confused while doing that post match interview. His body language could tell. His eyes could tell. He's a professional coach, and he knows the rules very well. He knows that was a clear goal. He knows the match officials did a wonderful job by reaching the correct decision. If it was Sundowns goal he wouldn't be talking "shocking, shocking". He would be applauding the referee and his assistant. In his closing remark he made it very clear that he was not happy with his defender who deliberately headed the ball to put Mango on. This tells you that he knows that was a legitimate goal. Please, don't blame him. He was confused," says Theo-Dixie Silaule.

"I am just wondering why should always be drama with Sundowns games? It becomes worse when the situation involved in that drama didn't favour them. Well done, Swaiswai" exclaims Jacky Ramasika.

"I saw VAR used on this game," says Tumisho Phiny Mashishi.

"Would be best if you were shocked by your fluke win against spurs," says Livhuwani Mamphaga.

"This means that your winning ability has come to an end..." says Derrick Mhlongo.

"1)It's not an offence to be in offside position as long you don't interfere with active play. 2) Coming from offside position and interfere with active play give you an unfair advantage. 3) If you are offside and the opponents defender intentionally play the ball to you, you are no longer offside. We are learning everyday especially on Sundowns and Pirates games.... Crooks those ones," says David Relese.

Meanwhile, former Egypt international-turned-analyst Reda Abdel Aal, per Al Sobh, claimed that Percy Tau's absence from Al Ahly is not due to injury as initially report but instead, it comes after a fallout with head coach Marcel Koller.

Check out what KO readers make of the issue:

"Tau looks like forcing himself to the team but they don't like him. How can the blame always face one player when a team fails,' says Modias Takawira.

"Tau's salary is not sitting well with the players, supporters and management combined and they want him out," says Rulani Mokoari.

"He must go and help Vincent Kompany at Burnley," says Isaac Molwela.

"Each time Al Ahly lose a game Percy Tau becomes a topic or blamed, is he the scapegoat," says Sir-Vince SK.

"Percy must leave Al Ahly," says Moeketsi Magesh Mokoena.

"Big teams turning into chiefs," says Johan Mnisi.

"Injured that one," says Makhavhu Frazer.
