After Chippa United Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi expressed his support for the Super Eagles, Mzansi fans did not hold back with their responses.
Nigeria are set to take on Bafana Bafana in the semi-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and Mpengesi is standing firmly behind Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and his national team.

"With Stanley's rising profile and the international attention it brings to Chippa United FC, the benefits have been nothing but positive. Therefore, I and Chippa United FC stand behind our player Stanley Nwabali and the Nigerian Super Eagles tomorrow against South Africa," the chairman wrote in a statement.

South Africans, as would perhaps be expected, did not take too kindly to what has been described as unpatriotic, embarrassing, and disrespectful.
