You would expect teams to share a kit sponsor or the main endorser like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates do with Vodacom. However, clubs tend to share more than what meets the eye, and Usuthu and City definitely get their high-protein recovery in between matches from the exact same source!

The milk boys
The most obvious two things that the two sides share between them are Umbro, the kit sponsor, and coach Benni McCarthy, who has managed both sides.
Sports beverage, High-Protein Recovery Milk endorses both teams as their product is said to be useful at meeting players' needs. According to the brand, their products are high in protein and they help repair, replenish and restore tired muscles.
Did you know?
In February 2021, McCarthy was gifted a brand new Volkswagen T-Roc SUV by their official club partner at the time. Later in the year, AmaZulu also partnered with Mitsubishi, and once again the Bafana Bafana legend was awarded another vehicle.
