Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is amongst the most outspoken tacticians in the PSL at the moment, and his press conferences are rarely void of controversy.
The German tactician, who has been around the country with various clubs, is in his second stint as Chiefs coach since arriving to replace Italian coach Giovanni Solinas in December last year.
After last season’s disastrous end, where the club ended ninth on the Absa Premiership standings before losing the Nedbank Cup final in shocking fashion to first division side TS Galaxy, Middendorp was arguably the most tipped candidate to be sacked first this season.
However, the 60-year-old has stood resolute and, based purely on results, is currently the safest with his side sitting atop the log table with a six-point gap.
Considering he still has a considerable number of detractors, out of pure curiosity, KickOff.com’s Chad Klate asked the coach whether he is finding joy in his current job.
