Few will forget the iconic images of Cameroon at the 1990 World Cup in Italy when they beat Argentina in the opening game and would go on to be surprise quarterfinalists, narrowly losing to England 3-2 in the Last 8. They encapsulated the spirit of the tournament and were the first African side to have genuine success on the global stage. With a squad packed with seasoned European-based players, they may be on for a repeat performance at least in 2010.
