CLUB INFORMATION

Portugal have a surprisingly poor record in international football given the success they enjoyed at club level in the past.

They will be playing in just their fifth World Cup finals in South Africa, and aside from a third-place finish in 1966, their only other showing of note was when they finished fourth in 2006.

They do have a trump card in Cristiano Ronaldo and if he is firing then has the ability to take the Portuguese past just about anyone.

Nickname: Selecção das Quinas
