Algeria beat Egypt in a thrilling play-off match in Sudan to clinch a third World Cup appearance and a first in 24 years.

Coach Rabah Saadane was also in charge in their last finals appearance at Mexico 86 and so has experience of the big-time.

Algeria have benefitted from a recent change in Fifa ruling that allows players over the age of 21 to switch allegiances if they play junior football for another country, leading to an influx of French-born players in their squad.
